The Miracle of Life Foundation (MLF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering people to reach beyond hope and believe that through God's miracles all things are possible! This foundation is inspired by a Phenomenal Miracle.
Such a day and time in Orlando Florida, perpetuated such an outpouring of humanity, empathy, prayers, and support for a Phenomenal Man, a simple person so full of enthusiasm, humility, and love for life, family, mankind and and most importantly, for God. His name is Darryl Perry of Orlando Florida.
Proud University of Florida Graduate, Darryl Perry, was a member of the Gators football team as a full back where he blocked for the all-star leading NFL Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith.
Darryl graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in 1990, and went on to train with the World Football League. Returning to his home city in 1994, Darryl worked first for Orlando Utilities Commission, and then dedicated his time to his ownership and operation of Elite Detailing. He sold the business in 1999 and began working as a financial advisor.
Darryl was also CEO of Wealth Management Advisors, a motivational speaker, and a regular speaker on the Fellowship of Christian Athletes circuit. Darryl received numerous honors and rewards over the years for his football athleticism, and for his dedication to the community. He was a board member of a number of charitable organizations, including Guardian Care Convalescent Center, which benefited from the annual Darryl Perry Golf Tournament.
The former University of Florida football player married his college sweetheart, had three kids and a career as a successful investment banker and community leader. At the age of forty in the prime of his life Perry couldn't have asked for more. But after enjoying dinner with some friends On March 16, 2007, he went to bed and in the middle of the night he died. "I saw him die,” said his wife Nicky. “I saw him take that last breath where his whole body deflated and the breath sounded....I can't even explain it."
Darryl suffered from cerebral hypoxia and cardiac arrest. Despite administration of CPR by his wife and paramedics, Darryl remained brain dead and comatose for almost three weeks. His prognosis was grim, with physicians recommending that his wife remove him from life support. However, the drive, determination and strong faith, Darryl woke up! The “Miracle Man” back from the dead. The man, who world renowned and respected physicians said was brain dead, and then subsequently would never walk, talk, speak or know his friends and family is alive! A man whose brain wave activity was flat lined and brain cells perceived to be dead! A man who the doctors said was clinically dead. Today, Darryl Perry is alive! He talks, walks, and reasons with us.
Miracle of Life Foundation (MLF) was founded in 2007. MLF was inspired by the remarkable life of Darryl Perry. MLF is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing information, support, research and encouragement into the lives of over 2.5 million people throughout the USA who suffer with a serious brain-related illness and injury.
